Intel® Express BIOS Update

Intel® Express BIOS Update combines the functionality of iFLASH and the ease-of-use of InstallShield applications, by packaging the BIOS file within an automated update utility. Update your BIOS while in the Windows* environment, without creating a boot disk. Download is approximately 1 MB.

Follow these user-friendly steps to update the BIOS:

 

  1. Download the BIOS update .exe file from developer.intel.com to your system.
  2. Double-click on the self-extracting executable.
  3. Three button clicks take you through the InstallShield wizard.
  4. Express BIOS Update automatically shuts down your system, updates the BIOS, and reboots your system.

Simplified Update Process

  • ONLY one reboot
  • NO creating a boot disk
  • NO booting to DOS
  • Update from OS

The Intel® Express BIOS Update is currently available for the Intel® Desktop Board D815EEA. The current plan is to make it available for the Intel® Desktop Board VC820 in August 2000. Intel® Express BIOS Update is planned for all future Intel Desktop Boards featuring the Intel® 810, Intel® 815, and Intel® 820 chipsets.
